Load

Rest Interval

Superset

The Building Blocks: Reps, Sets, and Load

A repetition (rep) is one complete execution of a movement — lowering a dumbbell and pressing it back up counts as one rep. A set is a group of consecutive reps performed without resting. So 3 sets of 10 reps (written as 3×10) means you perform the exercise ten times, rest, and repeat that cycle twice more.
Load refers to the resistance used — typically expressed in pounds or kilograms. Load selection is deeply personal and should be calibrated to your current ability. A weight that challenges you with good form on the final two or three reps of a set is generally a reasonable starting point.

Rest, Tempo, and Intensity
